To Do This Weekend: Merrick Street Fair and Mineola Street Fair!

At All Island Transportation, we think it’s really important to be able to provide our customers with the latest news in local activities around the community. It’s super inconvenient that all this information is spread out so far throughout the internet—shouldn’t you be able to find everything you need about Long Island events in one place? Yes, you should, and that place is the All Island Transportation blog!

We’ve paid pretty close attention to the Long Island Street Fairs happening in the area throughout the summer, and made sure to bring you a comprehensive list early on to help with your summer planning. Although school is back in session, summer isn’t quite over just yet, and there’s still some street fair fun to be had! This weekend, All Island Transportation is excited to be sponsoring both the Merrick Street Fair and the Mineola Street Fair!

The Merrick Street Fair & Fall Festival

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (9/12-14)

The Merrick Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Fall Festival at the Merrick Railroad Station at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Merrick Avenue. The Merrick Street Fair will be from 10AM to 6PM on Saturday and Sunday. Attendance is expected to be about 40,000 people through the weekend! The Fall Carnival will be taking place from Friday through Sunday. The Carnival hours are as follows:

Friday: 6PM-11PM (rides only)

Saturday: 11AM-11PM

Sunday: 11AM-8PM

There’s free parking for the Merrick Street Fair & Fall Festival, but All Island Transportation will be providing free shuttle service from the Street Fair to the parking lot and back.

The Mineola Street Fair

Sunday (9/14)

This is the fourth annual Mineola Street Fair, sponsored by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce. The Street Fair starts at noon, and opening ceremonies will begin at 1PM. The Street Fair will stretch across a four-block span: from Harrison Avenue to Second Street, and from Mineola Boulevard to Willis Avenue.

Tony Lubrano, owner of Piccola Bussola and Vice President of the Chamber, believes that customers benefit significantly more from local businesses, and for that reason the Chamber works diligently to foster a close-knit, community shopping experience. There will be two stages for entertainment acts, one at First Street and Mineola Boulevard, and the other at Main Street and Second Street.

We’re excited to be a part of both of these awesome street fairs this weekend, and look forward to seeing you there! As always, if you need a ride, All Island Transportation is yournumber one choice for taxi service on Long Island! Give us a call at (516) 742-2222 today!
